작가정보

저자(글) John Holstein

In 1967 the God of Good Fortune smiled on John Holstein when the U.S. Army thought the war would go better in Vietnam without this conscript and sent him to Seoul instead. When his tour was over he stayed in Korea to study Korean literature, but ended up happily teaching at Sungkyunkwan University for a quarter of a century. In his free time he authored articles and a couple books, translated Korean literature and traveled Asia. His translations of Korean short stories have won several top awards, and his book A Moment’s Grace: Stories from Korea in transition won the English Division award in the 2012 Tenth Korean Literature Translation Awards.
