《경희한국어》는 핵심 문법을 따로 공부할 수 있도록 《문법》을 분권하고, 이해와 표현을 한 번에 할 수 있도록 ‘듣기’와 ‘말하기’, ‘읽기’와 ‘쓰기’를 결합해 《듣고 말하기》와 《읽고 쓰기》의 통합 교재를 개발했다.

《읽고 쓰기》는 문자, SNS, 이메일 작성부터 보고서, 논문 등 전문 분야까지 각종 글쓰기에 유용하도록 이해 영역인 ‘읽기’와 표현 영역인 ‘쓰기’를 통합했다. 한국 문화를 생생하게 보여 주는 3,000여컷의 풍부한 삽화와 사진으로 학습자가 흥미를 느끼도록 했으며 원고지를 별책으로 구성해 까다로운 한국어 정서법을 꾸준하게 학습할 수 있도록 했다. 또한, 정치, 경제, 사회, 문화, 역사, 심리, 예술 등 전문적인 주제를 폭넓게 다루어 지식 습득 및 비판적 사고에 도움을 준다.

《경희한국어 첫걸음》

《경희한국어》는 예비 단계인 《첫걸음》을 두어 한국어 입문의 문턱을 낮췄다. 《첫걸음》은 예비편과 준비편으로 구성되며 학습자가 한글 자모와 음절 구조를 쉽고 빠르게 이해할 수 있도록 한글의 창제 원리 등이 담긴 동영상을 수록했다.

예비편은 한글 자모와 음절 연습 및 어휘 연습 활동으로 구성하였으며 짧은 기간 동안 한국 생활을 하는 외국인을 위하여 숫자와 가격, 위치, 한국 문화를 알려 주는 준비편을 추가했다. 준비편을 통해 예비 학습자는 한국어 문장의 기본 구조를 확인할 수 있으며 생활에 필요한 기초 의사소통 능력을 갖출 수 있다.

마지막으로 한글을 배울 때 경험할 수 있는 재미있고 유용한 정보를 구성하여 학습자가 한글 학습의 흥미를 유지할 수 있게 하였다.

이 책의 특징

▶예비편

모두 10개의 단원이며 3일~4일 정도의 학습 분량으로 구성하였다. 학습자가 예비편 단계에서 한국어에 대한 호기심을 잃지 않도록 모음1+자음1, 모음2+자음2와 같이 자모 제시 순서를 조정하였으며 학습자는 광고, 간판 등 실생활 자료에서 그날 배운 단어를 찾는 과제를 수행할 수 있다.

▶준비편

인사·교실 표현, 교실·장소, 한국, 얼굴·몸, 음식, 요일, 위치·지시어, 숫자, 한국어 문장의 기본 구조와 종합 연습 등 10개의 단원으로 구성하였다.

그림 보고 어휘 학습하기, 어휘 따라 쓰기, 초성 보고 어휘 추측하기 등 학습자가 한국어 어휘를 충분히 연습할 수 있다. 또한 단기 학습자를 위해 위치, 가격, 음식 등 한국 생활에 필요한 기본 어휘와 대화를 제시하여 일상생활에 필요한 한국어도 학습할 수 있도록 했다.

Kyung Hee Korean lowers the barrier to entry with its preliminary "first steps". "First Steps" consists of a preliminary section and a preparatory section, and includes videos on the creation of Hangul and the principles of the Korean alphabet so that learners can quickly and easily understand the alphabet and syllable structure.

Preliminary chapters
