『세종학당 실용 한국어』 교재는 해외 한국어 학습자의 ‘의사소통’ 능력 신장에 초점을 맞춘 ‘한국어’ 교재로 2016년에 개발된 『세종한국어 회화』 교재의 개정판입니다. 이번에 새롭게 『세종학당 실용 한국어』를 발간하면서 『세종한국어 회화』 교재를 사용한 경험이 있는 교원, 학습자를 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며 세종학당 파견 교원, 현지 교원, 운영 교원을 대상으로 심층 면담을 진행하여 『세종한국어 회화』의 장점을 극대화하고 단점을 보완하는 작업을 진행하였습니다.
특히 최근에 한국어 교재에서 주목하고 있는 ‘성 영향 평가 항목’에 맞추어 성 역할의 고정관념이나 편견을 제거하고 성별 대표성의 불균형을 없애고자 하였습니다. 또한 삽화나 사진이 제시하는 바가 명확하지 않은 것이나 지시문이 복잡한 것은 명료화, 단순화하여 교수·학습의 효율성을 높이고자 하였습니다. 이뿐만 아니라 복수 표준어는 한국인이 많이 사용하는 어휘로 대체하였고, 출판 이후 변화된 한국의 사회문화적 상황을 고려하여 시의 적절성과 교육 현장에서의 실제 활용성을 제고하도록 하였습니다.

The 『King Sejong Institute Practical Korean』 textbook is a ‘Korean’ textbook that focuses on improving the ‘communication’ skills of overseas Korean language learners and is a revised version of the 『Sejong Korean Conversation』 textbook developed in 2016. With the new publication of 『King Sejong Institute Practical Korean』, a survey was conducted targeting teachers and learners who had experience using the 『Sejong Korean Conversation』 textbook, and in-depth interviews were conducted with King Sejong Institute dispatched teachers, local teachers, and operating teachers. We worked to maximize the strengths and complement the weaknesses of 『Sejong Korean Conversation』. In particular, in line with the 'gender impact evaluation items' that have recently been attracting attention in Korean language textbooks, we removed stereotypes and prejudices about gender roles and improved gender representation. We wanted to eliminate the imbalance. In addition, we attempted to improve the efficiency of teaching and learning by clarifying and simplifying things that were unclear in illustrations or photos or complicated instructions. In addition, plural standard words were replaced with vocabulary frequently used by Koreans, and timeliness and practical usability in educational settings were improved by taking into account Korea's socio-cultural situation that has changed since publication.

Le manuel «King Sejong Institute Practical Korean» est un manuel «Coréen» axé sur l'amélioration des compétences «communication» des apprenants de langue coréenne à l'étranger et une version révisée du manuel «Sejong Korean Conversation» élaboré en 2016. Avec la nouvelle publication du «King Sejong Institute Practical Korean», une enquête a été menée auprès des enseignants et des apprenants ayant utilisé le manuel Sejong Korean Conversation», et des entretiens approfondis ont été menés avec des enseignants envoyés, des enseignants locaux et des enseignants opérationnels.
