이 책의 특징

* 이 교재는 외국인이 한국에 와서 적응하며 알아야 하고 말해야 하는 상황을 중심으로 총 10개의 단원으로 구성하였다.

* 각 단원은 듣고 말하기가 연속되어 있으며 내용에 따라 듣기와 말하기의 비중이 다르게 구성되어 있다.

* 한 단원은 두 개의 과로 구분되어 있으며 단원은 제목, 과 제목, 기본 어휘장, 듣기, 말하기로 구성되어 있다.

* 단원의 제시 순서는 듣기 도입, 듣기 전 어휘 활동, 듣기 전 문형 활동, 듣기, 들은 후 활동, 말하기 도입, 말하기 전 문형 활동, 말하기, 발음과 억양, 유용한 표현, 어휘와 표현, 정리하기로 구성되어 있다.

* 본문 듣기의 대화는 교재의 주요 등장인물이 한국에서 경험하는 일상생활을 중심으로 구성하였으며 동영상으로 촬영하여 한국어뿐만 아니라 자연스러운 동작과 상황을 볼 수 있도록 하였다.

* 본문 듣기는 학습자의 부담을 최소화하기 위하여 짧은 대화 듣기에서 긴 대화 듣기로 길이를 조정하였으며 듣기 후 활동에서 등장인물이 되어 말할 수 있도록 빈칸에 답하는 듣고 말하기 연습을 제시하였다.

* 본문 말하기를 위해 말하기 전 활동은 일상생활 말하기 중 핵심이 되는 문형과 어휘를 중심으로 〈보기〉를 구성하였으며 학습자가 어휘를 교체하여 연습할 수 있도록 밑줄로 표시하였다.

* 본문 말하기는 실제성 있는 삽화를 통해 학습자가 의사소통할 수 있도록 구성하였으며 삽화 내 말하기를 위한 키워드가 잘 보이도록 구성하였다. 또한 본문 말하기의 〈보기〉에는 교체되는 어휘를 하이라이트로 표시하여 학습자가 다양한 말하기를 시도할 수 있게 하였다.

* 어휘는 본문 듣기와 말하기 활동과 관련된 어휘 목록으로 제시하였으며 새 단어가 나오는 경우 해당하는 영역 아래 새 단어를 번역과 함께 제시하였다. 이 교재의 어휘는 약 450개다.

* 문법은 비명시적으로 노출되어 있으며 경희한국어 초급 2 문법 교재에서 듣고 말하기 기능으로 연계되는 문법을 제시하였다.

* 발음과 억양은 말하기와 듣기에 나오는 본문 중에서 선별하였으며 목표 발음을 교재 구성표에 제시하였다.

* 유용한 표현은 한국인이 실제로 사용하는 다양한 표현과 한국 문화를 추가로 제시한 부분으로 초급에 맞는 내용으로 선정하여 제시하였다.

"Kyunghee Korean Listening and Speaking" allows you to play audio files with the QR code in the textbook. For the first time in a Korean textbook for beginners, videos are included to help you understand speech and gestures in various situations. It also links the comprehension section, "Listening," with the expression section, "Speaking," so that you can listen and speak in real life.

This is the second of six levels of Korean textbooks for adult learners who want to learn Korean, and it is organised around the topics and situations that are essential at the beginner level, with practical exercises and activities to improve learners' communication skills.

It also provides MP3s and real-life dialogue videos with QR codes so that learners can learn not only the Korean language but also Korean attitudes and culture. Through this book, learners can acquire the basic spoken Korean language necessary for living in Korea and gain basic communication skills in Korean.

Features of this book

* The book is organised into 10 units that focus on situations that foreigners need to know and say when they come to Korea.

* Each unit is a series of listening and speaking sessions, with different proportions of listening and speaking depending on the content.

* A unit is divided into two sections, and the section consists of a title, section title, basic vocabulary, listening, and speaking.

* The order of presentation of the unit is: introduction to listening, pre-listening vocabulary activities, pre-listening grammar activities, listening, post-listening activities, introduction to speaking, pre-speaking grammar activities, speaking, pronunciation and intonation, useful expressions, vocabulary and expressions, and summarising.

* The dialogues in the texts are based on the daily life of the main characters in the book and are filmed on video so that learners can see natural actions and situations as well as the Korean language.

* For the main text, the pre-speaking activities are organised around 'examples' of sentences and vocabulary that are key to everyday speech and are underlined for learners to practise by replacing them.

* The text speaking activity is designed to help learners communicate through realistic illustrations, and the keywords for speaking in the illustrations are clearly visible. The text speaking activity also highlights the vocabulary that is being replaced, so that learners can try different ways of speaking.

* Vocabulary is presented as a list of vocabulary related to the listening and speaking activities in the text, and where new words appear, they are presented under the appropriate section with a translation. There are approximately 450 vocabulary words in this book.

* Grammar is presented in a non-explicit manner and is linked to the listening and speaking functions in the Kyunghee Korean for Beginners 2 Grammar book.

* Pronunciation and intonation are selected from speaking and listening texts, and target pronunciation is presented in the textbook scheme.

* Useful expressions are selected and presented in a way that is suitable for beginners, with a variety of expressions that Koreans actually use and additional information about Korean culture.

* Vocabulary and expressions are presented to help learners recognise and organise new vocabulary and expressions.
