한적한 동네의 조그만 그 카페 〈2대 커피〉에는 공시에 떨어진 손님이 찾아와 커피를 시키고 잠이 들어버리면 그 옆에 따뜻한 커피 한 잔을 더 내어주는 어른 ‘박석’이 있다. 그때 그 커피 옆에 나란히 놓이는 크루아상을 열심히 만들며 제과제빵의 명인을 꿈꾸는 ‘가원’이 있고, 그 커피를 들어 마실 때 귓가에 들려오는 음악들을 골라주며 혼자 딸을 키우는 ‘주희’가 있고, 카페 곳곳에 보이는 그림들을 그리며 길고양이들을 돌보는 ‘미나’가, 평론가의 독설을 뱉을지언정 2대 커피를 누구보다 사랑하는 ‘초이허트’가 있다.
