이 책은 총 4부로 구성된다. 1부에서는 하나의 번역 작품이 탄생하기까지 번역가가 겪는 깊은 고민과 지난한 과정을 담았고, 2부에서는 오역 논란에서 벗어나 창조적 번역이란 무엇인가에 대해 다뤘다. 3부에서는 작가와 번역가 그리고 연구자가 당면한 과제를 심도 있게 살폈고, 마지막 4부에서는 한류 열풍 속 K 문학의 위상과 실체를 드러냈다. 일부 번역가의 글은 영어로 기고되었는데, 번역가의 의도를 최대한 살리기 위해 번역본뿐만 아니라 영어 원문도 함께 실었다.
